0-40 or 50 it could take the tacoma, anything above that and it probably wouldn't have been able to keep up. But I had exhaust, intake and an Edge Evolution Programmer.

BTW I know everyone is probably trying not to puke because of the graphics but for the record- I wanted to take them off but was worried about the paint not matching so I left them on... After 3 years I just stopped caring, lol.

    I had a 99 F-150 with the 5.4 . I got about 11mpg on a good day.
From what I understand the 4.6 was a better motor.
It had lots of room in it for an extended cab. I loved the truck, but as said you will have problems down the road.
I plan on keeping my Tacoma for 7-10 years. If i had bought another domestic. ( and I hate saying this) but I would be looking for a new truck in 3-5 years.

Same here. I bought the extended warranty on my 2009 Taco because I plan to keep it 7 years. Had I pulled the trigger on an F150, I would probably move on after 3-4 years.

Of all domestic's, I would stick with Ford. My wife's 2001 Escape was an excellent vehicle and had 0 problems over 6 years. We sold it in 2007 for a Jeep Grand Cherokee and have nothing but problems with this car. It's fine now because it's under warranty but that runs out next year.

We plan to sell it for a Toyota Highlander or 4Runner.

Ford Escape is apples to oranges to the Highlander or 4Runner. About $10K difference in price too. The Ford Edge is more comparable to the Highlander but not quite the same in the quality or resale value.
