I have the same lift with 285/75/16 and I needed a cab mount chop and had to trim my fender liners. Sorry I don't have any pics of the trimming but here is my truckimage.jpg

285/70r17 general at2 with 5100s at 3rd notch. Did the cab mout chop and trimmed all inner fenders and still rub drivers side at full left lock under compression sometimes. Normal driving in and out of structures and streets, driveways and speed bumps no rubbing though

    I have the 5100/885's and 1.5" AAL. Here's a pic with ko2's in 265 70 17 c load. Rides smooth and no trimming needed.IMG_20160416_132642784_HDR.jpg

285's you're going to need to do some trimming. 265's and you won't have any rubbing problems

If the other wheels have the same backspacing etc of TRD offroad wheels then the 285's will contact the LR UCA (I assume others as well) at full droop. They tried to tell me the 285's wouldn't fit and I told them to mount them up and load the suspension and boom, they fit. Just know at full droop there is that possibility.

I went with 285/75/16 and have been regretting it.

It's a matter of opinion, but it looks obnoxiously big in person... you'll be using a tire larger than what full size trucks use on this tiny Tacoma, so it will look disproportional.

Get ready for everybody to talk about your tires when they see your truck. "How much were those monster truck tires?!!!" you will hear constantly.

Additionally your engine will be bogged down with the larger diameter, and you will have to get at least 4.11 4banger gears.

You'll have to cut so so much plastic away that if you ever go with 265/75/16 down the road it will look like shit.

You won't be able to fit a 285/75/16 spare under the truck without permanently bending the brackets. If you ever get a flat and have to run your factory spare, it will lean.

Finally the first time I had seen a 265/75/16 on a Tacoma in person was years after I bought my 285s, and I was amazed. I only wish I had seen the 265's in person first. It looks obviously larger than factory on the Tacoma when your seeing them in person. 265's don't look big in pictures, but they are. 285's look good in pictures, but look ridiculous in person.

They ordered 265's by mistake for mine when I had them put on and there wasn't much difference in stock size. I had them reorder the 285's and it looks much better with a full 3" lift.

    With 265's.

    With 285's.

My 265s look tiny and I can't stand them. I've seen many 285s in person and they look like the perfect size for a lifted tacoma. Just personal opinion, as is anything on this site.

I know a guy with 35s.. they look like the perfect size honestly. Yeah he trimmed a ton, but seriously, they look like the size the truck should come with when lifted.
