I have the exact set up you want, except with Camburg UCA and Wheelers 3 Leaf AAL without Overload. I am currently running my 265/70-17 BFG AT that I previously had, but now on my new TRD PRO Wheels. I too want 285s, but everyone on this site says it will rub the UCA on full lock due to the 4mm offset not being enough to get the wheel out. I wouldn't mind running the 275/70-17 but BFG is a E rated which is too much for these trucks in my opinion.

You could use wheel spacers for extra UCA clearance.

check post 153&154. i messaged him and he said no problems as long as crew cab.
makes no sense if others are saying no no and need to trim.

do you have pics of your truck btw?

For sure, but I am staying away from Spacers. I love these wheels but not enough to run spacers. Love how the wheels stay in the fender wells also.

I am running 285/70R17 and only have minimal rubbing on the LCA and frame from what I assume to be when at full lock and stuffed. No CMC and slight plastic trimming that I prob didn't need to do. IIRC the thing that can make a big difference from person to person is the backspacing and other specs on the rims. I can fix the rubbing by either different rims or spacers. It's not a big enough problem at the moment for me to do anything about it.

It sits actually dead even when you measure, so it's the angle of photo. Take a pic from back angle and look too high. I opted out of Overload spring for this reason, if my springs begin to sag I will throw the overload back in to make up for the height.

    Hey guys,

Curious if any of you guys put a 285 70 17 in the spare location under the truck, if it fits or not?

    Thanks!

TW - Just wanted to thank everyone for posting their setups. My trucks been a work in progress but I don't have any issues running the 285/70/17 c rated BFG tires. I prob would rub if I fully articulated the suspension, but since she's a street queen I'm good. One reason I haven't upgraded the suspension yet. My current setup is as follows (no haters please because I'm running spacers/blocks)
    Ray 10's MDB (17/8.5)
    2.25 inch ReadyLIFT
    1.5 inch Toytec blocks

    Hope this helps everyone.

I’m running 285/70/17 in the TRD SEMA wheels and I absolutely love this setup. Had to do the CMC, pinch weld mod, and trim a little plastic. Really not a big deal. Looks awesome, I constantly get compliments on the setup. Don’t hesitate, do it. And that one guy that posted he regretted it...that dude is crazy!! If you get BFG KO2’s, get load range C, not E. C rides much better.

Also, I am running 1.25” Spidertrax wheel spacers and love the look, everyone does. Didn’t need the CMC until the spacers. My lift is a Icon stage 3, with the Icon RXT leaf pack. Also have the Icon UCA with delta joints.

That looks great! I have 265/70/17 KO2’s on the trd pro wheels and am in need of tires i just lifted on 5100’s and 885’s with new uca’s.
i want to go up a size in tires and really like how my ko2’s have been. However they don’t make 275 ko2’s in C rated just E and i’m unsure i want to get E rated. My next option would be 285 ko2 C rated
My other option is to get falken wildpeak’s but i honestly don’t like the look of the sidewall as i prefer the aggressive look the ko2 have
Was the mods to fit the 285’s crazy to do or not really?

The CMC was not hard at all. Tons of people do them, takes a couple of hours. Well worth it in my opinion to run the 285’s. If you don’t run spacers, you probably wouldn’t need the CMC, I didn’t.

I strongly recommend against E rated tires, ride terrible. Get 285’s in C

yeah i heard they are overkill.
Really want ko2 again but seeing they don’t come in C rated in 275 285 may be my next option but i reallllly dont want to get them and install and have a crapload of rubbing and all of that
