Wondering if those who participated via invitation would comment on their experiences?

The 'invitation only' cap has been lifted now, so everyone can play. They are running a special on the 5x for a few weeks that makes it an even more interesting proposition..........

I'm sure many would say that about any non-Nexus 5x-6p phone they have. Right now that's not part of the game.

All I'm looking for here is actual experiences, not what ifs.

I like it, better than my old service with US Cellular. I don't use buttloads of data so it's worth it to me. Service is not as widely available as Verizon or ATT but is still good coverage and excels in areas where those players don't cover.

I have it. It's great. Calls sound good over wifi and I only pay $20 a month for unlimited talk and text plus $10 for 1gb of data, but I'm reimbursed back for data I don't use. Because I have wifi at work and home I don't expect to use much of the data I purchased. Plus free google legos to play with when they sent the sim card.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
I've been drooling over this but I'm not sure I'll save any money on it... Is it bad I'm really only interested in the Nexus 6P because of pure Android? Aside from that it's kinda like buying a phone that is 6 months behind the "latest and greatest."

I just wish the carriers and manufacturers would stop fucking with the Android they put on their phones.

I started using Nexus devices primarily for pure Android. I had the One, 4, 5 and now 5x. I can't stand all the bloatware from the carriers. I've been using Fi for a few months and I have no complaints. I'm glad that they finally put a usable camera in 5x/6P.

It keeps me coming back. It's unfortunate that every review site talks about how the 6P was old when it was released compared to Samsung, LG, and other competitor phones. I will have to visit a store or talk to a friend or something to get my hands on one.

Or break down and get one outside of my carrier so I can move to Project Fi if I want to.

I loved my original Nexus 5. If I wouldn't have dropped it in a bait tank I'd still be using it. I got the 5x with the Fi promotion. Can't beat it IMO.

At this point I have an S5 that gets approximately 5 hours of run time on battery. The battery drops off while plugged into a car charger using GPS and I've about had it. Still paying for it until September though... :frusty:

The unfortunate part is they went the Apple model and have made these things into an "appliance." Replace after 1yr and enjoy the $500 price tag every time.

The prices are definitely getting out of control. I like to buy the phone outright. Before Fi I was using Cricket wireless for $35/month. The most expensive month I've had on Fi was ~$33.

What car charger? Check out Galaxy Charging app or Ampere (I use this one). Your USB cord may be shit and not allowing the phone to charge like it should. I have some cheap Chinese cords that only charge at 200mah, where the phone can and will take much more (mine is 2900mah I think).

Damn. I'm splitting the bill with a family member and I think it comes out to $80-something each. But that's 10GB of shared data with 1 month roll over for unused. Project Fi can't beat that price if it's all being used.

It's a Samsung one. One day the phone just decided it wanted to burn through 40% of my battery in a few hours and has not been the same since. No installed applications to change anything, nothing. I love Android for what it means (especially with the alternative being the iPhone) I just wish they'd fucking fix battery life for a change. Every major software release comes out and the primary complaint is battery life is poor.

To put it into contrast over a work day (then after getting home) my phone will see the charger probably 3/4 times just to make it to 10-11pm. If I don't plug it in at my desk it'll be at 20% before I leave for home.

Oh, AND, on Airplane mode when we camped out in Idyllwild I had the phone go from 90% to 70% in an hour while in my pocket wheeling up to our camp site. Then one night (12? 1am?) it went from 70% to near dead by morning.

Ya Fi isn't a good choice for high data users. If I used more than a GB consistently I'd stick with Cricket (ATT). My wife uses about 2GB a month for $35 on Cricket.
