When I was looking for my Tacoma I knew two things, it was going to be purchased used (budget issues) and that it would have the off road package. As I haunted the used car lots, the first thing I looked for was that sticker. No sticker, no lookie. It is quite possible that I passed dozens of de-stickered off roads, but ain't nobody got time to be looking for the other tell tale signs that can only be seen up close because that means you've got to get out of your car and deal with those sleazy used car salesmen.

Resale is about the only legitimate reason to keep the sticker, but shit, if you don't like it pull that thing off.

    Workin' on it....
Actually now that you mention it I did the same thing when I was shopping. Cruise the car lots without getting out unless it was an OR to avoid having to deal with the circling sharks that inevitably come out of nowhere.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Or put a custom sticker on it...

You will loose 4wd capabilities and 30hp.
    :p

If you decide to remove the sticker be prepared for a possible buffing job, old pay and new paint may be aparent.

That's kind of my thinking... clean look

I love that idea, and honestly, I never liked the TRD logo.. it's the part that's bothering me so a custom sticker would be ideal.

Truck has not even arrived yet, so no worries there. If it comes off, it's coming off before the end of the day I take delivery.

Thanks everyone... some things I had not considered! Resale value and the loss of 30HP are the only two issues that concern me.

My decals and V6 badge didn't last 24 hours. I kept the Tacoma side badges but dipped them black.

I took mine off 4 months after manufacture...
The adhesive in the sticker had flat spotted the clearcoat; buffing was necessary.

I have had 3 sports. Always had dealer remove the stickers before delivery. No charge and could never tell they had been there

I wouldn't worry about resale. You can always put another decal back on when you are ready to sell.
Now for the loss of HP. You can overcome that by replacing the grille with the SR grille.

Remove them. I removed mine several years after I bought my truck back in 08. The ghosting was very slight(could.only be seen in the right light and at the right angle) and disappeared within about 6 months.

    True...
I took measurements before removing; just in case.
