    One more comment.

Have you test driven any other makes / models?

The information you get visiting other dealership's is good to have negotiating for the Tacoma.

This time of year, all the dealers will be more eager to make a deal with you, and the more you know about what other good deals are out there, the more likely you will be willing to walk away if the Toyota dealer isn't giving you their absolute best deal.

No regrets. I've had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen. models. They all did great!

I don’t miss my 01 DC. Other than less worries from scratches and dents, the new truck is better in every way.

My only regret is that I couldn't afford to keep my 370Z AND the truck.

    Came from a 2003 SR5 2WD > 2016 SR5 2WD > 2017 sport MT 4WD.

Do miss the low end torque but if you can swing the payments, you should def upgrade. It’s much more roomier than a 1st gen.

Y’all have no regrets until the truck dies on you on the highway while driving.... sadly, happens a lot with 3rd gens. Or your differential leaks....

I love 3rd Gens. Makes my 1st Gen look even more awesome. ;)

3 generations of Tacoma, all great trucks, none of them are prefect.

Just glad I bought my truck before joining this forum.

I've had mine just over 6 months now. Not a single problem yet. No diff leak, no howl, shifting is fine. It has been a great truck so far.

I’ve had mine a little over a year and am not even at 5k yet. I love this truck, definitely no regrets for me.

    No patch.....

......Just the feeling of self delusional grandeur that comes with thinking that the vehicle you drive defines and separates you from other people.

If you press a troll hard enough, they will claim their trolling is all in good fun.

Sadly, they truly believe that despite being pathetic little bitch trolls, that somehow owning a (insert gen. Tacoma here), makes them a smarter, better troll.

But we all know better. This type of troll is driven by insecurity. Failures in their personal and professional lives drive them by compulsion to identify with a vehicle. Lacking any personal or professional success, they are so pathetically delusional that they seek to find status by declaring their vehicle superior to any other.

Little does the little bitch troll understand that this sociopathic behavior only highlights and underlines their lack of ability, prowess and success in all other facets of life.

Then, one day when their vehicle splits in half from the rust or the 12 years of documented diff issues finally claims them, they clamber back down under their bridges and reflect stupidly on where their misplaced feelings of superiority have gotten them.

They have nothing to look forward to: the kids are either in jail or pregnant, their job at KFC is a dead end street and the old lady is pushing 400 pounds. Despite the fact that their vehicular idol has failed them, they continue to troll other forums, sadly clinging to a false idol, sadly realizing they truly are pathetic little trolls.

Pity them my friend. Understand that trying to crap on the whatever gen they don’t own is a sign of a serious mental and character flaw......

Well you have summed that up quite nicely.

I try not to judge, since I don't care to think how small the view is from mom's basement window.

All seriousness aside, 99% of all the members here are good people, and the forum benefits from all points of view.

It is fun to shoot these crows down from time to time though.

Sold my 2001 Z71 I drove for the last 10 years 294,000 no problems. Have my TRD for 3 months now and absolutely love this truck. Hauls my 2000 lb boat/trailer no issues. Don't miss the Z71 at all. Upgraded the Subaru tweeters and 4 kickers. Great mod. Now I need to figure out how to use blue tooth for XM. Oh yeah I had a 73or74 Hilux. Think I paid 2300 new back then. Im old.
