Some semi truck was going east and I was headed west on a road in Canada and a rock flew out and hit my hood and head lamp. I have dash cam video of the truck passing by and the loud sound of the rock hitting my hood and headlamp. Any of you have had this happen before?

I been feeling pretty lucky as I've had my Tacoma Sport for a few months now and about 4500 miles and not a single store chip or blemish (knock on wood).
Gotta expect them sooner of later there's so much hood and grill sticking out there. Of course driving with good old fashion common sense helps a little but in your case
not much you could have done.

Yes, I had a 3 lb rock skip off my hood and completely shatter my windshield.
I had a Turkey break through my grille and ruin my radiator.
Last week, A Coyote ran in front of me and now I do have a front spoiler lol.

What's your question? Dash cam footage is useless because it's not their fault a rock was in the road. I still blame that fucking Turkey though...

Had the same thing happen to me with a truck passing by but it was my windshield and it was the first morning of vacation headed to the beach. Shit happens , get it repaired and move on.

Had it happen to my 1st Gen once, rock chip was all the way down to bare metal, started to rust after a cpuple of days (PNW). Get some touch up paint on it now if bare metal is showing.

I think I replace at least 1 windshield every 1-2 years, not including chips that can be fixed.

I'm also from the PNW and I didn't even think about the bare metal to rust up, but thanks for the advice!

Just go off-road and scratch up that paint some. Head out on some trails that are too tight for your truck. Pretty soon you'll forget all about that small mark...

I did some research and found a company called Dr Color Chip ive used it on my 2017, check them out their process of adding touch up paint is easier and better then buying touch up paint from the dealership.
