I live near San Jose...dive in Monterey. I decided not to pursue tech diving because I've had a goal of climbing all of CA's 14ers and become a more proficient rock climber.
You could say I chose to go up rather than down. I have a lot of hobbies and try to keep it to a minimum. Maybe I'll take a break from climbing and go back to diving more. For now staying no deco and above 130 feet is cool.

I've heard the diving in Seattle is really good. I'll have to get up there sometime. I've actually been out of the water for a few months. Which is rare for me.

Yeah, man. The diving here is excellent. Everything from Lake Washington to the Sound is just awesome. It is dark and cold though, you you better bring your dry suit and a hell of a flashlight. If you're going to dive here, come up during the spring when the water is still clear and the air temps are warmer.

I've dived Monterey a lot, as well as up and down the entire CA coat. Lobos is probably my favorite place to dive. I love the life and structures.

I've been to Lobos a bunch of times. My favorite place is Monastery beach just north of Lobos by about a quarter mile.

Yeah, I pretty much don't dive with out my dry suit anymore. Screw being cold. Lol.

What's a dry suit? Ha Ha. Haven't needed anything greater than a 3mm down here in Florida. I'm spoiled

3mm...that's amazing. What's the coldest it gets down there? The coldest I've seen here is 45. The warmest it gets is like 65, but rare.

How about Seattle...that's gotta be way colder.

Mid to upper 60s...surface temp colder than that this time of year.

It's not that hard, just lay the bastards flat in the bed and brace them with your other gear to keep from sliding around. No need to waste time or money for something you don't need.

So I was looking at these on the internet and know a bunch of buddies who have installed the whole system on their boat. Does anyone know if these will fit in the OEM rack system? Seems too easy to be true, but might be the most cost effective way to secure tanks if it does.

I'm not a diver but I use 3 super quick fists to hold my co2 tank. They'll hold up to 9" diameter tank with a 55lb working load per strap.20170208_165752.jpg20170208_184505.jpg
