Any shops doing OvTune flashes in Norcal?

Been almost a week for me and I too like it. Seems to be a bit smoother now that it’s learning my driving habits. Need another week to get to the 500 miles and see how it is then.

 

Update* I'll be rolling through Sacramento tomorrow, Saturday 12/4 around 6 -7pm if anyone in the area wants to swing by for a tune! We'll be in the open lot next to Famous Burgers and Brew: 3101 Zinfandel Dr #132, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

I'll be interested in a Sacto meet... I just took delivery - so I am not in a hurry. I do want to know where the issues in the OEM tune are.

What is the latest in tunes for a '21 MANUAL taco? I understood that the manual tune was running a bit behind - or not yet available?

Any input would be appreciated!

 

Hey brotha! You’re right, the manuals aren’t even supported yet, let alone waiting for the tune pack. OV will release support first (being able to open stock maps for editing), then send out tune packs for the trucks in a second phase. Save this thread and I’ll post as soon as those are available!

I'd join at least for a chat on the latest regarding the manual tune impact and availability. But I'll be out of town... Looking forward to the next one!

I do not mind the OEM tune horribly. It is manageable -HOWEVER this is what I gather so far...

Top performance whish-list for the manual so far:

1.- On top by far! - Low-end performance. You can work the revs to mitigate- but a bit more 'Umph' on the lower end would do wonders!
2.- Rev hang; It is not as horrible as you read in TW, but here again - a bit of improvement would be great.

 

100% of manual guys I’ve tune have been probably more excited about the results than any of the automatic guys! The tune can reduce the rev hang almost completely and get you more power in the lower RPMs, especially fix that sluggish tip in in first and second gear. Not even to mention better throttle response. GET THE TUNE BROTHA! YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Not for 2021 yet! (even the AT isnt available yet). OV is slow, but they've got a great product! There was supposed to be some new info this past weekend, but it's a normal thing where they take longer than expected lol. Matt works hard though, I don't hate on him at all!\

yup it will re flash back to stock if they update you. If it drives like shit again then youll know forusre.

 

How does this work? You get the maps from OvTune, then use your own hardware to flash the image? Is there a license paid to OvTune or anything? Authorized reseller?

Right on. I figured you were legit I just don’t understand how it works.

So if you tune my truck do you own the tune? Or you own the equipment to do the tune or their is some kind of royalty paid to ovtune? Or do I pay ovtune and you install it?

I’ve never tuned a vehicle beyond what’s available in OBDII.

I’m super interested just currently spending all my play money on my rock crawler.
