New to the forum and 3rd gens. I purchased a 16 trd or access cab a few weeks ago and was pretty disappointed compared the the 2nd gens I've had. Any availability to get a tune installed? I am in the east bay and can drive down to you or wherever needed. Thanks to you and all the members for providing such valued info!

I linked up with Chan today to have him install his OV performance tune. I can't say enough about how cool and informative he was. Talked some shop, got to check out his and his buddies tacos and see a real nice 3rd gen 4 runner too. I rode home 60 miles in the fast lane cruising 80mph with a big ol' smile. If you are unhappy with the way your 3rd gen get the tune installed asap. Thanks for your professionalism and hospitality Chan!

I set up @tacotc with my CVC Performance tune! For those of you who don’t know, it’s pretty much been my standard of tuning now. I still offer OV Tunes, but my CVC Performance is what everyone in NorCal is running now. Next level and OV Tune killer. If you want more info, feel free to shoot me a DM. If your already running the OV Tune from me, you get free retunes, as promised! I’ll upgrade you for free!

Just got a tuned from OV to CVC and it feels and pulls stronger than OV 2.0. If anyone wants a tune, hit up Chan.

I don’t run the KDMAX. I’ve have some testers feel out my tune vs the KDMAX and their response was that the KD was more aggressive, while mine was smoother and maintained the same MPGs increase as the 2.0 OV Tune. The KDMAX im guessing puts down a little more power than mine, but depends what you’re looking for there! Both tunes noticeably puts down more power than the 2.0 OV Tune.

We don’t have dyno logs YET. Working with a couple local shops to get some numbers for everyone. We will though so #StayTuned for that. We will also have more versions as we work with the some engineers to utilize more power and maintain MPGs, and tune with even more power without the MPGs for those who don’t give two cents about MPGs. And at the end of the day, all of our tunes we will want to ensure longevity. We’re working with experts. If you’re local, I honor free retunes and full support as we progress. This is my full time gig and I’m not stopping. As long as this community supports me, I will continue to support you. We’ve got big things planned, so #StayTuned!

When can I get the new tune, you did my truck with OVTune 2.0 in San Bruno back in December. BTW I get worse gas mileage with OV2.0 vs stock.

Of course! And that’s why I offer full support, I’ll do some troubleshooting, reset some values, and those mpgs should climb back up

Right now I’m getting around 13 mpg in the city and around 15 on the highway. Have 33,s rock sliders roof rack with case.
I do feel the gear hunting and the weight.

wondering what mpgs you guys are getting on your tunes?

    thanks

Average reported MPG's for guys on 33's without weight is 16-18 after the tune. Some have more, but the area youre driving in is a factor and driving style. Those are just numbers based on what people tell me! Guys who post on their IGs see 19-21 sometimes. But thats one picture or moment and I dont have more information to base that off of. Most people see an increase by 1-2 over stock since the truck is running more efficiently.

Got the CVC tune today on my ‘21 OR. Immediately could tell the difference, handles on ramps and freeway driving much better. Can’t wait to put more miles on and test it out

I was able to meet up with Chan today and get the CVC tune. Shift points are WAY better and it seems to hold gears with throttle input much better as well. Maybe I am crazy but I can feel a difference in the torque curve. When I got home I wanted to keep driving so I took the truck back out and just drove around for another 30 minutes or so to add to the break in period. Chan was great and answered any questions I had. I did not enjoy this truck after the initial purchase as much as I had hoped, due to the issues everyone experiences with the transmission. So far this has transformed the experience of driving my truck into a positive one. I will continue to monitor the results (MPG etc.) and post another update, but so far very Happy customer, thanks Chan!
