I think the thing is that 95% of truck owners buy them to either haul cargo, take them off road, or both. Add that to the fact that most truck owners are practical, proper tool for the job type folks. You don't use a wrench to hammer in a nail, and you don't use a truck for racing. If they wanted something sleek and fast they would have bought a car, and many truck owners own both for that very reason. That's not to say that trucks can't or shouldn't be used for racing. It's just that most truck owners see it as a waste of time and money since there are machines specifically designed for that purpose.

 

Come on guys. He asked if there are any slammed Tacomas on the forum. He didn't ask for your personal opinion. If you don't like slammed trucks then shut the fuck up. You only sound like a close minded douche bag.



To answer the question, yes there are a few slammed Tacos on here.

 

No one ever said you have to/supposed do this and that with a pick-up. Whoever thinks it is dumb to race with them, up yours.

what do you suggest i do with my 5 lug? lift it? to do what? I DONT GO OFFROADING....BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN I DON'T USE IT AS A TRUCK. a truck has a bed, whether you use that bed to carry stuff on or off the road is all up to you, but where im at there's no real reason for me to go offroading or very good places to do so.

In no way did I imply that all trucks should be lifted. I, myself, own a base-model 4-banger that I bought for summer camping, and the occasional hauling of furniture (people have actually asked me if it's been lowered ). It will never be lifted because there is no need, and the closest it will ever get to off-roading is the occasional dirt road. Though I do fall into the category of those who would never lower a truck because my personal taste says it looks silly, and I have more important things to do with my money, I can certainly see the skill/passion required to retool a vehicle for something other than it's intended purpose (and yes, the INTENDED purpose of a truck is for hauling/offroading.... otherwise they'd come lowered from the factory). Anyway, I was trying to DEFEND those lowering their trucks. Sorry if it came across otherwise.

so not EVERY trucks purpose is intended for towing, hauling, and offroading...

 

customtacos.com is more geared to the slammed tacos. slammed trucks are just as cool as lifted trucks.

How many times do we have to have this debate? Let people do what they want w/ their trucks. If they ask your opinion, give it.

Slammed trucks aren't for me... and I think it's fun to watch people who do it get high-centered on a speed bump from time to time... but is it worth fighting about?

 

oh yah...btw people...slammed does not equal lowered.

slammed means on the ground low....or pretty close to it. lowered is just lowered, but not super super low.
