This thread reminded me. I've quit smoking cigarettes (and by extension dipping). To damn expensive of a habit to keep maintaining and im BROKE.

Today is day #3 of quitting cold turkey. Wish me luck.

Yeah. I had an early start at smoking. Not really something to be proud of but thats life. Oddly enough I'm quitting right on time for my 18th birthday.

Whats up with all the candy flavor shit? Why even bother? I dip Skoal straight long cut. When I cant find that I go with classic long cut. If I was worried about price I would quit before I ever got a can of griz or longhorn or what ever else kinda shit they are trying to pawn off on yall.

Really if your gonna go candy ass you might as well buy a bag of jolly ranchers and save your health.

I'm a big baseball guy so I've dipped for a little while and I dip alot. It's kind of just become a habit, go out with buddies and pack a dip. Cope Straight is my favorite, there's nothing that beats it.. but shit here in CA cans are expensive.

Stick to your guns bro. You can do it. I wish good health and lots of money to you........:D
I'm a baseball guy too. Played four different leagues in a couple of different summers through my teen years. We all chewed some form of tobacco.

I hope that you young guys can kick this habit while you are young. It gets much harder after many years. If not, plan on handing your wallet, and your health over to someone else.

btw, I still crave a dip of Cope every day, but I'm proud to say my mind is stronger, my lip is not raw, and my wallet is thicker because of quitting.:)

My children are counting on me.
