haha no he is not being hostile at all and I appreciate his posts. In fact i agree with everything he has said and suggest to anyone who just started or does it occasionally to stop. Even thought I thoroughly enjoy it and don't really want to quit i know i would be much better off if i did.

i quit a little over a month ago. I had a pretty big scare. I happen to rub my right jaw for a reason unknown to me(prob somebody give me a little nudge in the right direction) and felt this lump right below my tooth line. Scared the living FUCK out of me. I'm married and have two kids and I thought i had one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. But as fate would have it my little girl had a schedule doctors apointment with our family practioner (who happens to be on the cancer board) We got the little girl looked over (well-being checkup) and my wife wasting no time tells the Doc about this lump. So he feels around where this lump is and feels my throat and under my chin and to the relief of my wife and i it's just a little old cyst. He said that i probablly bit by cheek or cut my gum somehow and my wife says yeah from that damn snuff and the docs like snuff.... open up. So he gets his light and popsicle stick out and goes over my mouth with a fine tooth comb... under my tongue on the sides on the roof and back of my mouth. Im fine he says quit chewin that damn stuff! So guys give it up it was probablly the most scared i have ever been in my entire life and one of the worst feelings in the world knowing that you may have fucked your life up under your own doings. So every check-up from here on out be it my kids or myself i'm having him check it.

6 weeks clean after a 25 year habit. I'm 43, have a young family and needed to do the right thing. Having said that, I miss my Copenhagen mid-cut every single day.

dgerm: glad to see my posts as concern rather than a battle. That is just my stance on it, hell if it weren't so bad for you, I would smoke AND dip still, but I see the longterm consequences and feel that there are better ways to go, how I am not so sure but anyway....

Ya I always like cigars, and in high school we would always smoke shitty ones but when rugby season started we buckled down and didn't smoke anything. However i guess we just wanted to add a rush so we took up dipping and here I am: The guys I got to start dipping with me in high school were the ones that got me to start again after i quite for 6 months.

Viscous cycle. Are you coming to the carolina meet?

it is a day to day thing, if I can go to work and survive tomorrow, I may go, but if my back says no way, then no, I am not going. We shall see.....

tacogator...thank you but I can't claim to be so strong as to have gone cold turkey willingly. I had a full blown heart attack (and I'm in pretty good shape). My brother in law is a cardiologist and told me that 1 in 3 die with the heart attack I had. Chew constricts your arteries! If you have high cholesterol, then you are compounding an already bad scene which is exactly what I was doing. Best of luck in your battle.

ive been dip free for 2 weeks..My jaw is bothering me thou..Kinda where they join, in the corner of my mouth. I think its cuz i had my mouth a certain way while having dip in, and now that I dont its stressing the muscle cuz when i relax my mouth, it dosent hurt anymore.
