Hey! That is some great news. Im trying to take a few extra days off of work, so that would be perfect! The folks in law have some extra equipment, so we should be A-OK for the conditions. I'll definitely get in touch once we get up there! :woot:for snow!

I ride Burton, haven't had any problems with them but I have been wanting to try different boards/brands. They do have Demo days and shops where you can Demo boards before purchasing. At the Heavenly resort in Lake Tahoe they have a shop, where im at I have to wait for Demo days.

I really wanna try a Rome board!

Riding a board with reverse camber and/or magnatraction of some sort WILL change your view on boards.

If the majority of riding you do is on east coast ice, magnatraction will change your riding tremendously...multiple contacts points on the edges DIG into the ice (also great on mts like big bear, snow summit, or other "mostly manmade snow ski resorts") Love magna in the park/pipe to (personally)

Since Im a powder whore nowdays, steep n DEEP, reverse camber boards are so much fun in deep, dry powder (like 16in+days). Not as much fun on groomers, but snowboards arent made to ride groomers all day anyway:D(unless its park/pipe runs) Nothing can compare to dropping into a steep backcountry run, after a few hour hike, to an untracked STEEP n DEEP line, with reverse camber. NOTHING.

Many board companies are making one or the other or both of these kinds a boards(some with magna and reverse) Lib tech, neversummer, GNU are just a FEW that are good, just stay away from mass produced boards

I like this guy... After riding my neversummer SL-R in deep powder, I don't know if I've hit the park since. I would definitely advise neversummer boards. They are also the only boards I know of that come with a 3 year warranty!

    Ahh thanks...I like you to;)
I was huge into the park scene in my teens early twenties, spend a few summers at timberline being a park/slush monkey, then moved to Jackson Hole about six winters ago and never looked back. Got into backcountry my first winter and now I am to the point where I could give a shit about lift rides and parks...although the 4200 vertical ft of awsomeness all accessable by the 100 person tram that gets up there in 9 minutes at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is the best I have found in almost 15yrs of snowboarding.
With a little motivation and lots of effort, and buddies to watch your back incase of avy's (and you WILL crack some and every year people DO die in them) you will be amazed on how addicting riding huge coliours and peaks can be....compared to hitting tables and rails.
And, if your smart about the conditions, read the snowpack religiously (moisture content, wind direction, slope angle, NSEW ect), and learn from those around you about snow conditions it becomes a hobby in itself deciding what to ride on what day after how much snow has fallen and when/where/with who....and your chances of surviving will be GREATLY increased. Hiking and skinning all day for one run is not uncommon, but that one run WILL be so fu#*in sick that you may never forget it....or it may kill you.
It is a DRUG. If you dont want to go nuts every winter thinking about powder and you want to make lots of money in your life, DO NOT RIDE BACKCOUNTRY POWDER. Specially if you live out west and love to ride. you will give up everything to do it, you have been warned:D

This is TW, and I might have to sell my truck just to make it through the winter so I can ride everyday...possesions mean nothing compared to living your life, IMO

I just got my first capita this morning going to ride it monday i got the horrorscope fk. but still rely on my burton for the back country bigger hits and powder. try the burton joystick its super good all around i have one love it in deeper snow and bigger hits. If jibbing is more your thing try the forum www or capita check out the good woods too they help..but id vouch for the capita for sure
