I never thought of looking on Saturn for moon shadows. Thanks for the thought. I'll try it.

Before leaving for the dez with my dirtbike this A.M. I made my first binocular observation of Neptune during the current apparition. Saturn was in the same field of view.

For you at 32° N, Omega Centauri will be low in the southern sky, but definitely visible. It's often reported as being visible from as far north as 35-37° N, and even sometimes at 42° N from very dark sites. From 32° N, it will clear the horizon by a small margin, making it observable.

It's a fantastic object, considered the largest and brightest globular cluster in our galaxy, and can even be seen with the naked eye from dark locations as a fuzzy "star." With binoculars or a telescope, it's a truly spectacular sight. It's best observed during late winter, spring, and early summer evenings when it's highest in the sky.

Alas, an unusual summer thunderstorm overnight 17/18 July prevented my observation of Titan's shadow transiting Saturn that evening.

Perhaps skies will cooperate for the 03 August event?

Then again, it gets expensive. Since I bought the nexstar, I’ve added a Tele Vue 85 and 102. I’m very happy now. Wife is not. Life is full of trade-offs…
