i'm looking to refinish my 17'' sport wheels. the finish is bubbling off of them and they arent under warranty. i've already purchased another used set, however if i can refinish the ones i have now i may just flip those and paint these. does anyone know anything about sandblasting alloy wheels?? i've heard that you can from some people and others say not to or to use walnut shells or less abrasive materials. i'm afraid that sanding them will be insufficient to my pickiness.

i guess my question is, can i sandblast my wheels and has anyone had good luck with the paint? does it last? is it durable?

    any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
