I was just given a ls400, so it might be time for a v8 swap. The conversion parts to stay a 5spd are expensive though.

I googled some pictures of car seats in the back- I found a couple - I think it will work. The kids won't have any leg room, but they will survive. The truck I'm going to buy also has bucket seats in the front. I'd really like to have a bench seat. The grandpa truck look has appeal to me. Not sure why! Thanks again. I'll probably keep your name hand for questions, you seem to know these trucks well.

I got bored. Justrealized the seat bottom is up. So it could actually slide another 2” back.

It looks like it works! I'm going to post pictures of the truck when I go look at it tomorrow. Its got 174k miles, 2 owners. He says it has some hail damage. Looks clean in the pictures though. I got him to $3800 over the phone.

The car seats we have are more of the convertible type...that go from rear to front facing. I may see if I can pick up some garage sell specials to keep just in my truck for short trips - and keep the good car seats in my wifes car which is the family car.

Tag me when you post them.

Another pro is that they are the standard toy 6 lug. So I can swap wheels between all my rigs. It makes it nice cause as my tires get worn on my other rigs they get swapped over to my work t100 and I can finish them off.

They do also suffer from the cracked clutch pedal bracket that has plagued all the trucks/4runners since 1990. So if the pedal feels weird take a look and see if it is moving sideways as it moves down. You can either pull it and weld it or buy a new one, with either I would install the toyota plate that sandwiches between the clutch master cylinder and the firewall. It might have been fixed by 97, I cant remember.

What year are you looking at tomorrow?

Also unbolt the rear brake proportioning rod and wire it in the up position. Otherwise the rear drums are not really doing much.

I have always wanted a t100. If I could find an extracab 4x4 in good condition for a decent price, I would buy it.

    Or even the first Tundras.

I really love T-100s I’ve never owned one but have always wanted one. I see them around pretty often and they are usual beat to shit but seem to be full of life. Anyway, the ones posted are damn good lookin trucks. Good luck on your search!

Toytec coilovers. Height adjustable Bilstein's. 265/75/16 MT. TRD wheels. Rebuilt r150f. Marlin clutch kit. All kinds of new parts...

Must have the same payload as the taco :) I fit the exact amount of Tech Mix in my Tacoma. I think 1600# is the payload. She was squattin pretty good.

Its a good looking truck. Unmolested front clip is a good sign. If you get bored, pull the top timing cover and see how the belt looks. Dont trust that the mechanic actually changed it. Drain and refill the diffs and trans and put another 100k on it.

Turning my Base into an SR5 one piece at a time
You're gonna love it. I had the '98 SR5 extended cab 3.4L V6 4x4 auto transmission (got a photo of it in my bio pic). It was my dream truck when I bought it and still is! Got it in '02 with 49K miles on it for $16k. Drove it til '15 when it had 347K miles and I finally had an unknown breakdown that my local repair shop quoted me over $3k to fix (I can't remember what the issue was). I sold it to a guy for $1500 who was pretty sure it was actually something he could fix at home in his garage...but he was way more of a wrencher than me.

Other than the final issue, nothing out of the ordinary in terms of repairs, short of the stuff you'd expect. Tires, brakes, batteries a few mufflers. I did start to have some rust above the rear wheel wells, but I'm up here in snow/road salt country, so that shouldn't be an issue for you (For what it's worth, the rest of the body was rock solid. I Bondo'd the crap out of the wheel wells and she looked as good as new until the day I sold her).

Man I miss that truck. Can I come drive yours for nostalgia's sake?
