Spent allot of time at Hikam AFB passing through on my way to Guam and then to many more places further west. Beautiful place, but it is definitely expensive. Merry Christmas to all you old guy's. I will be turning 56 on the first day of the new year.

Hey Chief, Happy Birthday in advance! Yah Hawaii is expensive but it’s warm year round, I use shorts everyday and only worry about volcanoes and occasional hurricane, so the cost balances out....
    Merry Christmas

Howzit guys! 51 here...Last time I spent this much time and money on truck upgrades was 30 years ago. I guess I’m none the wiser, but sure is fun.

We should have a Big Island Jamboree with a Silver/50 plus Division ;)

    Merry Christmas!

59, but had my first Toyota 19. Dont really look at other drivers, so I'm not to sure about their age.

When I first started buying Toyotas, not too many others had them. I bought them because I'm a mechanic and always knew they were more reliable than most other brands.
Today I see many buying them because they are cool/trendy, and not because they run to 500k miles with little effort.

$1500. for a 72 toy truck sounds very high. There were no Tacoma trucks in 79, or even 89. Hard to believe you owned a Tacoma for all those years, and had no Idea
it was called a Toyota Truck, not Tacoma.

I'm 65 and never noticed any stares. My first Toyota truck was an 85, regular cab, 4x4, 4-cyl., manual xmission SR5 (they didn't call them Tacoma's back then). I replaced in 97 with an access cab LX, 4-cyl, manual xmission. That one had a few too many issues so in 08 I replace it with a Nissan Frontier NISMO, king cab, 6-cyl, 4x4, manual xmission. The Nissan was worst than the 97 Tacoma so I'm back into a Toyota again. I found a lightly used (8k miles) 2018, access cab, 4x4, SR5 with auto xmission for a pretty good price so I'm giving it a try. So far, I like the truck, but absolutely hate the auto xmission. I'm going to give it some time, but think in a year or so I'll be looking for a new truck with a manual tranny again (provided they still offer manual xmissions in the future).

64 here, think like I'm 18, feel 40's and still only drive manual trans. cars. No sedans here either coupes, convertibles and trucks!

Those of you who hate the tranny, just use the sport shift. I mostly use 3 to 5 and 6 is for 70mph. Been driving mine that way for 2 years and now I get better mpg and like the truck.
