They say 70 is the new 50. That would make me 51.

That’s funny. I looked at Tacoma’s for the last 5 years and decided to get one when the 3rd generations were going strong. My uncle is 78 and bought a new limited last year. I have bigger tires and put on some of those Amber grille lights. Definitely not too old to have a fun driver that holds road and does well in snow. My wife also likes the ride.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
    59. Drove my first in '77 at an auto parts store I delivered for. Owned my first in '79. A 79' SR5. I got stares back then, especially from my dad who wouldn't let me park "that Jap truck" in our driveway. He was a WWII vet. And from my buddies who all had built muscle cars along with me, a 71 El Camino SS 454. This was the gas crisis times, I couldn't afford gas for the built big block.
After retiring from the Navy in 02 I managed a company where we had 37 Tacoma 4x4's.
I've owned 5 Tacomas, in all gens.
I stare, and wonder why you don't drive a Tacoma.

    64. Not as many stares as I get when I drive the STI. I did decide to de-wing it last year, now most people just think its a hopped up Prius. Doesn't bother me.

So is it the consensus in here that the youth is wasted on the young?

Am 67 this May and still wheeling my 2nd gen. Every summer in Nevada. Plus multiple trips to the coast with our 17 Casita camping. Got my eye on a new 3rd gen, maybe, either a Tacoma or Tundra. Also looking at the Vagabond Drifters, drool.

My son tells me the same thing. Then I shoot him a pic of mine when I have my bikes, kayaks or sailboat up on top. Then I ask him where doe he carry all his toys.

I m 63 I have driven and owned 2001 double cab with 4 cylinder, 2006 double cab TRD sport 2WD, and recently 2018 double cab TRD OFF ROAD 4WD Long Bed. I still own the 2016 repainted same silver color. Added navigation rearview camera looks great. And no I don't get stared at. Must be where I live in So. Calif that I don't get stared at. I changed the 2018 grille to a TRD Pro grille OEM with garnish, and I raised my vehicle 3 inches. Looks great my sensor works great.
