Interestingly, all but one of the several Tacoma owners I know are over 50. Wanted one for a long time, but didn't become practical until certain other milestones were acheived.

A late-onset midlife crisis vehicle for the practical man.

I turned 55 last month. Bought my Tacoma back in 2017 when the lease was up on the 2014 BMW 535d xDrive I was driving. I'd always been interested in a Tacoma and it seemed like the right time to do it.

I started with muscle cars back in the 1980s... first car was a 1969 Chevelle that had a 350 engine that I built myself. I ended buying a 1972 Pontiac Ventura and swapping my 350 from the Chevelle for the 307 in the Ventura before selling the Chevelle.

I've done the british sportscar thing... Restored an MG Midget in the late 80s/early 90s. Started on a 1957 MGA, but had to sell that before it was finished (I still regret that).

I've been through a number of BMWs, including the 1996 328is that was my daily driver that became a part time track car and ultimately a full time BMW CCA race car. I towed the race car with a Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax back in the early 2000s - you could tow a house with that thing.

These days its the Tacoma, which I've recently started to take off road a bit, and my BMW motorcycle.

Age is just a number. Mentally, I'm somewhere between 12 and 21 depending on the situation.

66 here. My first, and probably only, Tacoma. Not that I don't like it, but I do like it a lot, just wish it were a long bed. I'm at the age that I hope this is the last vehicle I'll need, it's a 2011 but hasn't yet turned 100K. It is the 10th Toyota I've owned, starting with the FJ40 in my avatar. My Taco is my DD and my work truck, I tow three different trailers for different uses (enclosed 5x8, a 14' open box bed for loose material like mulch and firewood, and an 18' flatbed for my tractor and landscaping equipment). It's an awesome truck.

63 here. First car, '67 Mustang GT convertible. Been kicking myself for getting rid of that for 40+ years. Had a couple of late '70s Power Wagons, then got my first Toyota pick up, a new 1986. (My avatar on the left.) When my son was born we went to a '88 4Runner, followed by a '92 4Runner, both with manual transmissions, both GREAT vehicles. Had a couple of Subaru WRX's after that then bought my new 2017 Tacoma Off Road double cab in early 2018. Great truck. We are really enjoying getting out with the camper.

OK Man I am riveted. I am looking at nearly that exact trailer. How do you like it? How many feet is it? How does it tow with with your Tacoma?

We really love the E-Pro camper. It's 19 ft. long and it has the fold down murphy bed option. No slide out. It has everything we want or need. I have a Blue Ox weight distribution hitch and a Tekonsha P3 brake controller. The truck and camper are a good pair in my opinion. Our longest trip has only been about 3 1/2 hours from home down to Shawnee National Forest. As long as I stick with the 4S and ECT transmission combo, I'm set. One HUGE improvement, after a windy, rainy trip I got rid of the factory Goodyear Wranglers and replaced them with a set of Cooper AT3 LT's. Night and day to say the least.

Wow nice, amazing how light they are, well below the towing cap. I was looking at 15 ft but may go longer. Thank you!

58 and looking to buy my first Tacoma! 2021 TRD OR DCLB in cement. I bought a new 4-Runner in 1988. Looking to head off into the sunset with mountain bike, ski's, hiking, hunting, fishing, roaming, etc. Better to burn out than fade away! Hopefully till I am 70! My true love are the old Ford Broncos (1966 - 1977). I had a 77 in my early 20's (fun time) and a 76 in my early 40's (too busy with work and kids to enjoy it). New Bronco's coming out next year and look great, but too small to be as functional as a Taco. Looking forward to Tacoma ownership and the adventures to follow!
