I believe the red snug top that I tried on was actually from a 2000 Nissan Frontier excess cab. It was a bit off as far as a perfect snug fit, as you can see on the pictures. An hour away ain’t that bad find out for sure! Make the drive, it could be worth it, if not, you won’t loose much. It took awhile to find the “right one” for me. Good luck!

Also, I believe it’s best to ALWAYS do a dry fit to see how it sits. I never made my decision just by measurements.

Awesome. Thanks! Going to rally down there Monday to test it out. Will report back on fitment- if anyone in the future is ever wondering.

I’ll be for sure! I really liked your previous camper, also, your current set-up. That’s what sparked my search for the perfect one. So thanks for that. Keep us updated, curious to see how this one turns out.

Just saw the first pic haha.

Nice! I really liked that shell too. Glad you found one that, any updates on the little things you were going to fix? Still going to paint it black?

Well, I have only replaced both locks for now. Still need to replace the rubber seals, and want to put some carpet in there for those winder nights. As far as painting it, yes! I want to color match it as some point. Just need to save some cash since I’ll be painting the truck as well.

Nice! Where did you get the new locks? Carpet helps greatly with insulation.

Not as high as your previous one, but just enough.

Thanks, I appreciate that! It's been my dream come true. Trust me, a build will never be done haha. Stick with it though, every little mod takes it further! What's next for you? I think sorting out a daily shell or fabricating a bed rack is in order for me. That is unless that cheap ebay snorkel shows back up in stock sometime soon :spy:

 That eBay snorkel. Everyone and their mom is waiting for that thing to come back in stock! Lol. Not bad though, plenty of good reviews. Might jump on that too. Next thing is some LBJ, then a front and rear bumper. Clean the MAF and throttle body ( for that little shake when the truck is at idle ) I believe for now, besides the paint job should be it.

Haha...yeah, that snorkel. Why the hell not? #ExpoAF

You going to build your own bumpers? My rear was modeled after Box Rockets, but without the fancy bends or round pipe. Front was CBI DIY kit, which I just made a write-up about. But for me sliders were more imperative to install than bumpers, as I was wheeling hard in Northern Utah in the big boulders. Not such a huge deal in NM, from what we experienced.

Where are you in NM? We spent about a month there visiting my dad's side of the family over xmas 2018. My aunt lives walking distance to the ABQ West Marble Brewery location- which was quite convenient. Spent some awesome time in Taos & Santa Fe as well. Hit the hot springs & breweries there, super convenient to Taos Mesa Brewing Co.

Honestly haven’t yet found which one yet. ARB, CBI, relentless Fab, so many options it’s hard to choose, plus they ain’t that cheap. As far as sliders go, need some of that shit too! Wish I could weld or else I would go for the cheaper, “weld it yourself one option” :rofl:I live in Santa Teresa, NM. walking distance from El Paso, TX. Ain’t much here but sand/dunes, some hills here and there but nothing memorable.

Congrats on your lifetime commitment! Been there for 10 years and 3 little boys later.
