It's kind of hard to get a good grip on the relay. I haven't had much success in trying to pull it out so far. Don't want to try pliers because I'm sure I'll destroy the relay that way... Anyone have any tips on an easy method to get that relay to pop out?

    thanks!

Yeah, I only spent 5-10 minutes trying to work it out, but wasn't making any progress. Had as good of a grip as I could on it and tried to wiggle/work it out without any luck. Just wanted to see if anyone had any tips. I was hoping there was a relay puller somewhere that I hadn't looked (like there is a fuse puller under the lid of the main fuse box). My main problem seems to be that I can't get a good grip on it because the adjacent relay is so close.

a light grip with a pair of pliers should do the trick .

Wiggling and pliers should help. Once you get a little lip on the bottom you can gently pry it up using a flathead. Try grabbing it the long way (your fingers on the two short sides), it tends to flex less and allows you a more sturdy grip

Those relays can be in there good. I had to pull one for the fog light anytime mod linked in my signature and I luckily had some plastic panel tools and one had like a small 90deg end on it and I was able to sneak that guy under the bottom to get some more leverage while I wiggled it and pulled upwards. I wouldn't attempt this with anything metal so you don't short anything out but if you have something non-conductive like that it can help you to pry it out with some more leverage since it's tough to get very much traction on it where it is.

I found it helped to pull the other two relays first. They were stubborn for sure.

Thanks for the suggestions (and confirmation that I'm not being a total pansy). Friend at work has some plastic panel tools that I may borrow. I didn't think about pulling the other relays, either. Great thought. Will try that first.
