What seems to be working for me now is checking the level after the truck has sat all night. I pull the dipstick and read it. I don’t wipe and stab it again. The reading is clear with no oil smeared along the dipstick. The level was about an 1/8 inch from the top dimple. I don’t see how this could not be anything but accurate since all the oil has settled in the pan and no oil in the tube to smear and the level on the stick reflects the oil level in the pan. Am I right or wrong ?

Should be fine. Like mentioned above book calls for 6.2 quarts. 1000s of us dump 6 quarts in and rock and roll. Don’t over think it, you will be fine.
