Any tips to replacing the rear brake line?

It seems like the rear brake line is pretty straight forward. There isn't much room at the upper connection but it is doable. However, the retainer clip is rusted and refuses to move, even when tapping it with a punch and hammer.

This is for a 1st Gen.

 

You are trying to replace the flexible hose, right? If the existing hose can be sacrificed, just cut it with a dremel downstream of the mounting flange.

 

Just stick a flathead screwdriver under the clip and work with it. I was able to rotate the clip until I was able to grab it with a Channel Lock. It is a very reduced area to work in. Just jack the truck up high so you will be comfortable doing it. And put your jack stands up, just in case.
