Was that supposed to be sarcastic?

Because if it wasn't, i don't know how you got so many likes.

You can go onto any forum for vehicle X and find people complaining about issues/breakdowns. But do a few, or even few dozen, complaints really matter all that much if we're talking about an overall pool of hundreds of thousands of vehicles?

Internet forums have a tendency to become negativity echo chambers...the people who encounter troubles/issues with their vehicles tend to go online and complain about them and a lot of people interpret those complaints as the norm. Meanwhile the owners who aren't having issues (which are the majority) don't have anything to complain about and don't contribute.

Might the 3.5l v6 have some oil starvation issues on inclines? Perhaps. But I'll also point out that the Tacoma is marketed as an offroad truck; perhaps not every owner offroads it, but a lot do. If the starvation issue was as prevalent or probable as this story makes it out to be, I'd certainly expect to see a lot more incidents reported on the NHTSA website.

idk all those pictures in that guys website look really hardcore to me, by reading it looks like he drove it out of the water and at the end he has a picture that shows his tacoma smoking on its final hill climb.

I think the incline is what killed it not the water at all.

i dont think it had anything to do with water and had everything to do with the incline. He was out of water at one point and has a pic at the end of his article titled "My Tacoma smoking after its final hill climb."

so he got it out of water at some point.

I havent read this whole dang thread yet so not sure if its been discussed.
