    Hey all,

I have been out of contract and been going at a month-to-month basis with Verizon wireless for nearly a year now. I was getting a nice monthly discount on my bill due to my employer. I moved to a new company about 9 months ago and lost that discount and my bill has jumped up to to +/- $175.00 a month now from a decent $115.00.

My wife and I share a 700 min family plan (of which we never come close to using) and have an old Unlimited Messaging & Data plan that has been grandfathered in from B-in-the-D. We are both on iPhone 4S's and I will admit that the coverage Verizon provides is very reliable, but the new bill is a pissah!

We're looking at ways to save $ and I heard about Ting mobile on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast (LOVE that podcast!) about a year ago. At the time they did not support iPhones, but in he last few weeks announced that they have a beta support for the 4's and 4S's with more features in the works.

I wanted to see if any folks on TW have experience on the coverage and the overall quality of Ting Mobile. From what I hear its a stellar company but I'm worried about the coverage up here in Maine... I'm thinking about making the jump and telling Verizon to pound sand finally...

    Any thoughts?

No one answered this so thought I might as well...

    Here's a somewhat old review

Based on what I read, money aside, the big user experience difference is going to be

-slow acquisition of the latest phones
-talking coverage is sprint with verizon roaming. Sprint is pretty crappy in my area, but verizon should plug the holes
-data coverage is going to suck huge. It's also going to be slow.

If your only interest is talking, then it could be worth it provided that their plan makes up for the cost of the unsubsidized phone.
I would consider the plan for my older relatives or the dumb-phone users and try to hook them up with a phone I'm getting rid of.
However, data is a must for me and this wouldn't be worth it from what I see.
