Watching for this. It would be cool to compare a normal 4x2 vs a OR 4x2 with the locker.

Hill climb in a 2wd? Ain't going far unless it's dry pavement!

It's very much possible good sir. Maybe not as inclined as 4x4s can handle, but it is very much possible.

If your talking sand hill climbs then I will wager that 2wd 3rd gens dont have the ponies to spin sand tires

Probably right on this, but I saw a video of an old 2wd nissan with some sand tires that made it possible. But I am looking for more of a gravel, mud and dirt perspective. I'll take whatever I can get though.

This is closest thing I have ever seen. Shows just what a locker can do with a 4x2. It's a gen 1 but same principles would still apply to a gen 3.

Yup that about sums it up. 2wd TRD OR is nothing short of gimmicky.

You know what a locked rear end in 2wd is good for? Side hilling and sliding the ass end of the truck around an obstacle. Oh, and maybe pulling a stump or something if you put ALOT of weight in the bed

Comments on the video say otherwise.

EDIT: Also those tires don't seem like real off roading tires.

Just found this, although it's not a hill climb, it displays some of the obstacles it can still overcome.

I didn't know the 2WD 3rd gen had a lesser "ponies" motor. How much extra pony power does a 4x4 have?

Edit: where do you get your material for this type of comment????
