Just curious to know if there are any Water or wastewater treatment guys on the site. Figured it'd be neat to have other people to talk to about pumps, problems, or just post neat pictures. I know i'm not the only one on here!

    I wear many hats.

Operate hi pressure steam boilers, operate and maintain 8, 250hp air compressors, operate and maintain the sanitary sewer system, operate the solid waste/recycling program, jeezus, I never wrote down what I got my hands into before, and there is still alot of shit that I deal with.

nothing wrong with the experience! I work for a company that has a wastewater treatment plant, city water plant, 300 miles of sewer lines, and owns and operates 2 water reservoirs so I know what you mean. Probably the neatest part of our plant is the dewatering process for our furnace to burn off the waste!

I'm an instrumentation guy, but WW falls under my responsibilities. Along with ultra pure water, pure steam, chilled water and glycol, air handling units, and damn near everthing else now that I think about it.

Worked in wastewater residuals management for about 6 years. I've moved on, but it was fascinating work.

Good deal, thats a great field to be in. I am currently in Mechanical Maintenance, but I get to help instrumentation guys from time to time. I hoping once I finish my business degree I can take a few classes to be more familiar with it. There are 1000 different things you can do in water and wastewater

A lot of science goes into it, I was shocked when I was hired into the field.

Heard of it. Never used it. All of our controls are Seimens or DeltaV.

Yeah we have several things from Seimens, and several drives from Benshaw for our large pumps. Scada is a program we use to keep track of all out pumps, levels, and everything else that needs to be monitored. Its allows us to control everything remotely.

Oh that's cool man, its pretty interesting stuff once you get the principals behind everything. Definitely a sweet field I did a tour at my local wastewater facility when I first started looking into this field and it looked like a sweet gig for sure!
