Banded Gear..? By Choad Belding? Chad Belding...

He's also a part of the Fowl Life.

Don't get me wrong him and his crew are amazing hunters and have excellent access to properties all over the US...They have great gear, and even better marketing.... I just don't like the way they promote duck hunting... Too flashy, everyone has trucker hats and barrel stickers. Giant "Fowl Life" stickers across the back window of every truck.

It's like the Jersey shore of duck hunting, but that's just my opinion.

Can I ask you what products you saw in person you were impressed by?

    Also, very nice hunt

Sitting in the blind as we speak waiting for the sun to come up. The birds have been slim here lately... I'm hoping that this cold front has brought new birds in with it. This is prob the coldest it's been all year. I need to gain access to some private land so I don't have to wake up so damn early. Around here if your not in your spot by 0430.... Your shit outta luck...

Ah I'm like you, some of their products were a bit flashy than functional. But I got to see the waders, jackets, fleece, blind bags, carry bags, gun cases and headgear they were wearing. One of my buddies is pro-staffing for them as he knows the owners. He had invited a couple of reps from the company to hunt the second day, which was a bust. I will say that the grey fabric on my buddies waders had ripped above the knee, but not sure how long he has used it or to what extent.

Good to know their gear is good stuff. I just don't like Belding's attitude.

Very nice! I went this morning with no luck. Only had a shot on one wood duck and couldn't manage to kill him... I need to find some more areas to hunt... The spot i like to hunt on the lake is getting pressure everyday and there just aren't any birds left.... And the ones that are left are educated....

It's gotten a bit warm here. Went a few times last week and came out with nothing.

My total for this year is 1 woodie so far.

Saturday evening just before sunset we saw somewhere around 50 ducks flying really high, thats a rare sight around here. They were heading somewhere fast. Never seen a group like that before.

Trying to plan a midwest trip for next season (Dec 2013) Either Arkansas or Lousiana, if anyone has any recommended guides or places i'm all ears.

Yeah, I go to a York Technical College in Rock Hill, SC. 2 fellas I hunt with went to Arkansas in Dec 2011, Had decent luck. They found a cheap place to stay (think it was the Rice Patty hotel or some shit). Took their own boat. Were thinking of getting a guide this year since we have no boat.

    Good luck!
