There's nothing as fun as waiting on wood ducks to whistle by in the woods with a few friends. Wood duck is by far my favorite duck to hunt and eat. They taste the best

What kind of gun is everyone shooting? I bought a Winchester sx3 last year and haven't been that pleased with it.

I am looking to get another and right now the browning BPS and Benelli supernova and SBE II.

    What's everyone else got??

    Wow. Beautiful.
My philosophy on guns is posted here several pages back somewhere. In short, buy cheap and reliable, and give it hell. I shoot an 870 super mag.

That's what has me leaning towards the supernova and BPS.

The 870s aren't nearly what they use to be. My buddy got one a year ago and it's been sent back 2-3 times

What's the source of your displeasure? I've been using an SX3 for ducks and turkey for several years, have only cleaned it a couple times and it's literally never had a failure to feed, fire or eject.

I love them. Won't buy anything else. Have 3 actually. An early 70s wingmaster, a 2000s wingmaster, and my super mag beater.

Don't get me wrong, the new age autoloaders are very nice, just not my style.

I've got an 870 Express Supermag that I've beat the dog shit out of in the few short years I've had it. Once spent 3 straight days in flooded backwater before I could get it out after the water receded. Cleaned it up real well and it worked just as good as ever. Lots of people seem to have shell extracting issues but the extractors can easily be replaced.

Was shopping gas guns this summer before dove season so I took a long look at the SX3. Ended up with a Beretta A300 Outlander. Shot it so hot in the dove field this summer you couldn't touch the barrel but it didn't skip a beat. Been throwing a mixed bag of duck loads at it this winter and it has ate everything without hesitation. Only complaints are the safety being in front of the trigger guard and reassembling can be a bear at first. Ensure you're comfortable with the placement of the safety before going hunting and trying to do it under pressure/quickly.

Unfortunately I have been jamming up almost this entire second half of the season.

Anything from 50 degrees to this past weekend where it was 15-20 degrees both days, and the gun jammed after my first shot every single volley we had. Incredibly frustrating. I cleaned the guy last week and Saturday night before Sunday's hunt and it still jammed.

For a gun that's over $1,000 I expect better performance.
