Hello fellow tacos :) i have a '13 DCSB TRD and was hoping someone can answer this, i've searched in WWW but maybe i'm using the wrong keyword for searching. Is there a way to level the tow hitch or change the angle of it? i have a Kuat bike rack that leans excessively and doesnt allow me to lower the rack down out of the way of the tailgate and well as makes the bike hang into the rack when using the built in bike stand. if it were up right correctly i'd have none of these issues. Any advice or tips? Thanks again and Hello from Hell, I mean Phoenix East Valley

I know they've got hitch extenders. It won't level it out but it'll extend it out further to give clearance to tailgate

Put your bike on the outer spot? If that’s a stock OEM tow hitch; no reasonable way to change the angle.

From the photo, it doesn't look like there is anything wrong with the hitch angle, but the rack angle itself. I don't think the hitch angle was meant to be altered and should be correct as-is.

I don't know anything about bike racks, but it looks like all of those have a built in angle towards the vehicle.

might be able to undo the bolts for the hitch to the frame and adjust slightly given the amount of clearance in the bolt holes, but other than that no, the hitch is not designed to be tilted. the challenge is in the bike rack, not the truck.

well darn i was afraid of that, i've seen them level on other tacos. Same rack and all. i even thought about taking an angle grinder to the bike rack 2in bar and cutting out a small triangle wedge then bending it down level and welding it back up :) i know it's extreme for vanity sake but it's annoying that it sits like that..

gonna have to do it on the rack itself... dont mess with the hitch as thats hard mounted to the frame.

Correct, i wouldn't dream of doing it to the hitch itself just the bike rack

I have a bomber strap i usually use it's shuttle time and the i have bomber strap and the heat is making it deform the plastic on the tailgate so i though i'd bust out my never use bike rack then i remember why i dont use it, cause it looks weird leaning in so far... i guess i just need to stop being picky and be happy i have options huh

Cut the bike in half and weld it back together at desired angle. You guys are overthinking this.

Actually the easiest solution is find the largest man around and have him hang off the back on the rack until its flatter. This is a solid solution 100% serious
