Getting real agrivated with people flashing their high beams at me and/or just being plain jerks on the road to me because they think I have my high beams on because my truck is slightly lifted, itbwill be even more lifted in a few weeks and just wanna see if the dealer can adjust my head light beam angle but before I ask them, I just wanna make sure its possible because it doesn't look like it is even possible.

Sorry, it's actually a phillips screw on the 2012's and up. It's the screw directly down and to the left of the black boot....

Same screws or bolts on all the 2nd gens...if he can reach he can use a 8 mm socket if not a long Phillips head screw driver will work from the top town
Reason why they made those small inserts to slide a screw driver in from the top

Would anyone know of proper measurements????

I've heard in the past there are a few things to do:

    full tank of gas
check all tires for same air pressure
level surface X distance from a wall
tape (masking or green) measurements on wall with tape and go from there.....but is there anything in anyone's service manual?

Eg looking for something like this specifically for tacoma's if it exists.

If it makes you feel any better, I was getting flashed by about 50% of the truck drivers out there after my lift/bigger tires. Took it to a Toyota dealership and asked the service writer if they could align my headlights for me.

"I don't think we can do that. They're set from the factory," was the reply. I was too dumbfounded to even come up with a clever reply. Just as I was leaving, apparently they had a brainwave and told me to go to this body shop they always use.

So fine, I roll into the body shop, and explain the situation to the girl at the counter. One of their techs was nearby and heard my story. He asked for the keys and within ten minutes, he'd had them done (didn't even charge me a penny). He said that they were way too high and too far to the left. Showed me how to adjust them (about a 30 second procedure, btw). They're way better now, but I may tweak them a bit more, myself.

My headlights were way too high from the factory.I simply parked on my flat garage floor with the headlights pointing at the white garage door. About 6 feet away. Marked with tape on the garage door where the top of the beam cutoff was. Then lowered each beam the same (like 4 inches as measured on the garage door, measuring down from the tape to the top of the beam cutoff). It was perfect after that.

I've passed other tacomas and it's usually their foglights that shine upward

Many thanks to all who participated in helping me. I will be checking my 2013 Taco (I just learned this piece of jargon from another member) when my son comes home from his weekend of fun times at a cottage. I guess it would be wise to remove the WW tank on the passenger side in order to make it easier to get at the set-screws.
Will report on how it went.

Righty tighty, lefty loosey will take you far in life.

Clock wise is right as the hands go to the right for eg when starting at say 12.

Counter clockwise is the opposite so to the left.

Alternately you could think of it as laying a clock flat :clock wise is to the right as the hands turn that way - same way a screw would go in or tighten.

I aimed mine on the side of a building from about 25 feet away on a level lot at night. Aim the low beams and the high beams follow. I used a long phillips screwdriver from the top down to the adjuster and use a flashlight to see the adjuster. The screw driver and adjuster act as a ring and pinion to adjust the headlight aim. Go slowly and gently. Just a small amount of vertical adjustment is usually all that is needed. Be sure to put some masking tape on the wall to mark your starting point and then measure and mark from the ground up to the desired new target point. There was a procedure with dimensions here somewhere that I followed.I would load the truck as you normally use it and even have a similar weight person in the drivers seat while you adjust. I found proper adjustment made a huge difference in lighting performance. My lenses are not cloudy at all but just cleaning off road film (I use Plastex polish and then 303 protectant) also helps a lot too. Bulb performance degrades over time so now may be a good time to change bulbs if required and then adjust.
