I would like to think so, but my baby is only 2 months old, and didnt want to risk it!! out of curiousity, whats the worst that could happen? i know your intake could fill your engine with water.....not good, but anything that is really serious? obviously im new to the truck and off-road world

if you suck water in you could hydrolock your engine... breaking all kinds of stuff. I did that to a 84 Toyota pickup when i was like 17... broke the crank right in half.

Im not sure but i think the intake for out 2nd gens are pretty well positioned to where you'd have to sink the whole front end to actually suck up abuncha water. you may get a little every now and then that the filter would absorb but you'd really have to do something crazy to mess it up. maybe someone else knows more about this.

another thing you might wanna do if driving through lots of water is get the diff breather extensions... so you dont get any water in those gears and ruin your diffs and transfer case.

Durhamtown Plantation is a huge place to go riding in Ga. I have never hit any trails in my truck- only dirtbike and the razor. But I see a lot of trail dedicated rigs going and some daily driver wranglers and what not. It would be a place worth checking out.

It's right off of I20 at the greensboro exit (exit 130). Sort of in between Atlanta and Augusta.

Check it out HERE or just go to www.durhamtown.com

Totally understood that a klr is not "The Best" dual sport bike out there. I'm not interested in paying that much for a bike. But the KLR650 is very affordable, especially used, but has plenty of aftermarket parts and a huge following. For me, those things mean a lot.

But I've accidentally hi-jacked this thread. Sorry!

    Back to Georgia trail talk!

yall making me miss N.Georgia. It used to be tons of four-wheelin everywhere. when my dad was doing it. Lockheed was the answer. When I was wheelin the power lines where the shit. Recently I went back to GA and noticed the the pipe lines power lines and other places where gated up and no more from what I could tell. Covered bridge was great of hwy 20. but it's closed to.

Yeah, while it gets increasingly difficult to find land not under lock and key but there is still a good bit out there. Here in Ga just south of the perimeter there are so many subdivisions out in the middle of no where that they just stopped building on, and no one lives there- there are trails all around those since a lot of land was acquired for the different phases of the development. The best part (or sad part) is that since contractors owned it, banks took it or are taking it back- so no one really knows who currently owns it. Its all kinda tied up in red tape and the banks sure as hell are not going to have anyone out there watching it. A lot of the places have tracks where other people are wheeling. Every time I find a place like that I save it on GPS ;)

No worries. I just had my truck repainted after a big limb fell on it so I'm not going to be doing anything too stupid myself!

Any other guys around wanna join in?

We are in McDonough, just off I75 south of Atlanta by about 30 min. (Near Stockbridge, Hampton, and Locust Grove.)
North of macon by about 45 min., and East of Conyers by about 30 min.

We can meet up and hit some light trails.

Open to suggestions also on Mod Days, or meet and greet-beer and truck talk days ;)
