    hi my name is James I'm 21 and currently in school at Northwest Renewable Energy Institute in Vancouver Wa. I'm studying to become a wind turbine technician and I'm wondering if there are any wind techs on here.

    Good career choice, I was tihnking of going to do the program at moses lake. Tons of work, and tons of perks for the jobs.

    That's awesome im graduating from tech school next week and I start working for sky climber on the 10th. I'm pretty excited because its a 100% traveling job and I will get to do O&M as well as composite repair. But what im most excited about is getting to learn more about electrical systems because I would like to become an electrical engineer some day

    Have fun cleaning up the dead birds from the turbines. That seems to be the big issue with the wind turbines from what I hear. But seriously pitch the idea of putting screen around the turbines to prevent birds from flying into them.

    You'll learn to hate composite repair... and services. Only good part about the job is the people (hopefully they're cool) and the troubleshooting. Everything else sucks. :eek:

    More birds die from my work truck than from the turbine.... :rolleyes:
