Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I've only got small mini lathes. One is an Excelsior from Rockler (same as the HF Central Machinery) and the other is a Shop Fox W1704. I got the Rockler one for the GF to learn on because she wanted to turn pens and small projects. The Shop Fox was a deal I couldn't turn down. The SF has a variable speed where the Rockler has three belt positions.

If I ever get into turning more seriously (and have the room) I would get a G0800 from Grizzly. I feel in love with it after watching Kyle Toth use it on his Youtube channel. http://www.woodbytoth.com/

like @wilcam47 said, i haven't made one, but could figure it out fairly easily. $50 is a pretty decent price. Probably about what i would charge if I were to make one.

50 is for a fill size one. One for an uuni would probably be half the size

what size max pizza do you put in there? Or I guess what size is the opening. I could try and make you one...scale it down from the one we have, I believe its around 18" just have to tell me what kind of lumber you like.

This is the one it came with. 15x11 do you have a way to etch something into the wood?

Oh the reason I want one is to make it traditional 100% ill have to measure my uuni when I get home to see how much room I actually have for one. The metal one gets hot and isn't very friendly when handling it. Also can't beat a wood peel. Alder or poplur wood is what I believe they are made out of normally

Experimenting with epoxy for the first time today. There's a few projects that I had in mind and this seemed like the easiest one to start with. I had this piece of black walnut that I was thinking about making into a little side table or something. Only been about four hours since I poured it on, but so far I'm very happy with how it's looking!

It finally cooled down enough to start my live edge river table. It will end up around 46 x 23 x 2" for the table top.

I cut the Walnut slab I bought somewhere near in half and moved it around until I liked it and cut it to size.

The sides were flipped to get the bark in the middle and one side was flipped to make the center area as even as possible. There was one spot that had a bare wood edge due to the way it was cut and I didn't like it so I cut the bark off the scrap piece and glued it in place.

I did my best to make it look as natural as possible. I will have to run both sides through the planer to get rid of the rough cuts then figure out how I will fasten the sides together. The epoxy is very strong but it could rip out the bark pretty easily if not done right.

I will paint epoxy on the bark first to avoid air bubbles. Once it is sealed it will help with the next steps.
