LOL, Hell, a length of chair rail likely wouldn't cost as much as the closet rod and labor time.

Cool idea. Throw a few coats of poly on them so the sloppy bar patrons don't ruin them.

No, I would regular woodworking screws. Flat head, square drive. Pre-drilling a small pilot hole is a good idea as well.

I bought this a few months ago, it's a 50 year anniversary Lagler (Hummel) belt sander (with led light).
The guy that bought my old machine (in the top pic) couldn't believe that it was 14 years old - cuz most sanders get totally abused.

Used they usually go for $2K to $2,500, I got $4K for mine.
The guy that bought said he was planning on low balling me, but couldn't believe how clean it was so he didn't hesitate to pay full asking price.
I also have a couple of vintage Lagler (Randmeister) edge sanders (that they quit making about 25 years ago),
one that I restored and another one that I scored from Canada in near mint condition.

This is the Randmeister that I scored from Canada a couple of years ago.
They started making these in 1974 and quit making them in the early 80's, so this could be nearly 40 years old.
I sent a pic to the U.S. distributer in Colorado and they were blown away, they put it up on their facebook page..

The only thing MDF is good for is concrete forms!
    IMG_8556.jpg

I build boxes with plywood. For the box, I use rabbets, glue and screws. For the backs, dado and staples (maybe screws at top if wall mounting). I prefer star head screws, like GRK. I pretty much hate flat head, philips and square heads. Why don't they make star head sheet rock screws, dammit!

Correcto, I haz teh dumb. But, I got all of them drilled, added a radius to the corners, and rounded the edges. Staining them was a total pain, because the bar owner wants TCU purple in the dimples.

I would have wrapped those things up in moving blankets! And charged extra for whatever TCU purple is!
