Freud is great for the money. I'll buy those before anything else. But I'm just a hobbyist.

I'm curious if anyone has tried "Bits and Bits" router bits?

I have not yet. I know Katz-Moses has a discount code. He's actually doing a give away for them right now for a Festool router. I actually don't need or have a desire for anything they offer. They seem to be geared more towards the CNC crowd. The sell Whiteside as well.

I have gotten decent bits from MLCS. They are probably a step above HF but below the Bosch that Lowe's sells.

Also a big fan of Freud/Diablo anything. Love their saw blades and sandnet discs.

My first bits I got to get started was a set was MLCS, they work good decent. Although if I did it again, I’d go for Freud/Diablo.

In a pinch I’ve gotten a couple of the Yonico off Amazon. One was a rabbit bit set that was half the price of Freud. I knew it wouldn’t be used on any high quality or hard wood. Also had bought a bunch of other stuff at the time. It’s worked for now but honestly, I’ve stollen the varied bearings for other bits more then using that the bit itself. They do get good ratings, as long as you keep in mind it’s Amazon reviews, and I doubt they are used by anyone doing serious woodwork.

Wrapped up this playhouse salvage, let little man screw the door back on. Made his day.

So, I got asked to make a set of cornhole boards. They look pretty straightforward to knock out. To those who have made them, what did you charge for it? It doesn't look like more than maybe 5 or 6 hours of work, if you're taking your time. From what I've been told, they don't want all the bells and whistles- just some basic stain and I plan on latching them together for storage.

As long as the bar owner isn’t a purist, you’re good. Otherwise, there are some significant rules to making them and what they are made of. I highly doubt the bar cares BUT below is an interesting read regardless.

I made the mistake of looking it up for just a simple backyard set for home.

If they are plain jane unfinished I usually do $80. Finished...$125.

Cut the angle @ 80° (or 10°) and cut the OAL of the leg to 11 5/32-ish and you will get the 12 height requirement as long as you use 3/4 ply as the top. I typically use 2x4's for the sides and legs.

Not for the bar, this is a friend on FB. I ended up quoting her at $150, so she may pass. But, it might be a cool project to try in the future.

She didn't want paint, just regular stain. Was planning on adding some poly, to make the face of it slippery.
You and me both brother, you and me both.
