I just use WD-40 and a scotch pad to clean it and after it dries put some paste wax on it.

Mine got kind of ratty after having it stored for a year. I used Liquid Wrench silicon spray and steel wool. Oil based products will absorb into the metal and then you have to fight to get it out. The oil can transfer into the wood. Silicon is safe and will not stain the wood.

    Paint the board
    Cover with contact paper
    Carve the sign
    Spray paint the carved portion
    Peal the contact paper

    or skip step one
But then spay paint in several coats to minimize the seepage under the contact paper

Bought this drum sander last year and used it for the first time for my raise panel doors. Last time I had a shop run my panel through a wide belt sander and at the rate of $5 per minute it adds up CD4D2162-0999-428F-8059-A8B60FA00080.jpgHad to buy another conveyor belt and sandpaper

    results with 80 grit
    5970CA23-A93C-4E41-93E2-E8A861D675C9.jpg

Not bad and I couldn’t ask more from it

but I found this machine FD2F5E0B-1136-47DF-865A-7F9F40CF134A.jpg

End up posting the delta up for sale and sold it within 12 hrs and added a couple of Benjamin to acquire the 19-38 super max. Not regretting it one bit.

Have anyone here offer milling services to recoup some $ since it’s just a hobby? The idea popped up after chatting with the wife. I have a few tools that most would not want to invest in for as a hobby and wouldn’t mind helping others out but don’t know if it would even be worth my time.

Can't hurt to advertise locally and see what shakes out. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Post on Facebook, and, or Craigslist. Maybe a flyer in the local hardware stores. But be advised that you will have to deal with people if you advertise your services. Some are wonderful and some are a PITA and make your life and side hustle not worth it. But that is the nice thing about a side hustle. When it becomes less than enjoyable you can always shut it down and move on.

My 1st display case for my addiction. Some improvements to be made, but overall I'm happy. Heavier hardware next time and a few minor aesthetic changes on the way, but im gonna go all in on them.
