I haven't tried it yet but I bought some turquoise granules to try and put somewhere. I was thinking in a crack or bad gouge. Maybe this would work for you.

Sadly, I haven't touch my lathe in over a year. To much work going on at home. Maybe this winter I can get back at it. I'll post up when turning again.

Honestly, I'm not that good. I haven't used mine that much. I have only turned half a dozen bowls, a few pens and mallets. I even have bought some carbide chisels that I have not taken out of the packaging.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I specifically bought a turning gift Christmas present for that intended purpose of using the lathe again.

I did the same thing 6 months ago and still haven't touched it. If I don't get to it when I get back home from this hitch, I will not have enough time to have it finished for Christmas. My wife said I help too many other people and need to take care of myself first. Maybe I should start listening to her.

I still use the carbide tools. I have the large woodpeckers brand set, and the easy wood tools set. I will get the good stuff when I can buy my powermatic lathe.

I just glued up the wood for it. :p

And yes, you should listen to your wife. I have a neighbor that's the same way. Can't say no to any one. Then he struggles to get what he wants done for himself. We tell him the same thing; learn the word "no"

I hate to see the older people around me fight with things that I could do 4 times as fast. After Thanksgiving weekend, I will pull the lathe out even if it is to make some saw dust.

That's pretty cool. I better not let my wife see these though.
