Whew boy, looks like I’ve found my next thread to follow on TW. Getting to the point that most of the threads I read have nothing to do with Tacomas hahaha..

The tote so far contains in no particular order

    Spare Ripping Chain
    3 foot level
    12 inch speed square
    Wood marking crayons
    Wrench for saw
    Ratcheting wrench for mill adjustments
Impact driver for screwing down ladder
    Screws in various lengths
    Bar Oil
    Canned fuel
    Chaps
Safety helmet with integrated hearing protection and face shield
    Gloves
    Hand held metal detector
    Tarp
    Moisture meter
    Ear plugs
    Tape measure
    Tinted Safety glasses
    Dead blow hammer
    Wedges
    Knee pads
    Paracord
Small plastic ammo box to store all the small things inside the tote.

All the tools I just picked up cheap versions at Harbor Freight so I don't have to take anything out of my tool box.

This is an older picture and things were added after this but you get the idea.

I have the smaller granberg mill, but I use the ladder for every cut. Keeps the saw nice and flat the whole way. It can get tippy at the start and end without the ladder, then each cut gets progressively worse.

The best thing I’ve found is to get the log up off the ground to make it easier to work. Plus if one end is higher than the other, you can use gravity to help with the cut.

Good advice.. already working on an elevated system and I've noticed the tipping at the end more than the beginning and yes.. gravity is a good thing in this case!

i didn’t build a solar kiln, but I did build an electric one. It’s only 2ft x 2ft x 8ft and it’s just plywood lined with 1.5” foam insulation. I have 2 heat guns, one at each end. Then I drilled holes in a bunch of spots and put probe thermometers in so I can monitor the inside temp. It’s by no means perfect, but it does the job. I had some wood that I milled and brought into my basement to air dry. A week later I noticed holes forming and sawdust falling from it. Built the kiln and cooked the slabs to kill the bugs. All good now.

Just hadn't see you for awhile... thought I'd check on ya! Finally got to get the chainsaw mill out - still a lot to learn of course but so far so good.
