After you get them clamped up take a straight edge, framing square, to check for flatness. Too much pressure may cup the panel.

    Not my work.

My 22 yo son has been spending some time in his grandpa’s shop with him before leaving for grad school.

I don't know how many remember my bowl post from a month or so, but the 13 hand carved bowls (used to put your EDC in on your nightstand) were given as groomsmen gifts at my son's wedding. I think they were a hit.

Where do you guys get your wood? I have Woodcraft & Rockler stores near me that have a decent selection of wood, but it can get a little pricey. I did have a sawmill about 30-40 minutes away where I got a lot of lumber in the past, but they closed.
I try to keep an eye on Craigslist to see if anyone is selling lumber. When I look at the free stuff, it's mostly just warped 2x4s and plywood.
Who/where are your go to sources for lumber for your projects?

I usually snap stuff off of Craigslist or a lumber yard. If I want exotic stuff then I go to (online) Kencraft, Rockler, or Woodcraft.

Some lumber yards also ship. You wont be able to pick the specific board but they typically wont send you wood that's knotty or split. Woodworkers Source, Bear Creek Lumber, Wilson Lumber Co, Capitol City Lumber Co just to name a few. If you take the time to research the specific species of wood you're looking to build with, if it's a local grown species, you might find it cheaper if you go straight to closest lumber yard. Granted, depending on where you are living from the source, you may get hit on a higher shipping cost. I just searched 'Lumber yards that ship', you may also want to narrow your search down to the specific species of wood you want. Bottom line, you don't need to be limited to just Woodcraft or Rockler. The foreign market is affecting our wood prices post-pandemic which saw a drastic rise all across the board (pun intended).

I get my domestic hardwood from a local cabinet supply. Even though I never buy more than about 40 board feet at a time the give me the contractor price. For exotics, I have to travel about an hour to a dedicated hardwood supplier.
