Quarter sawn white oak frame with a dark stickley finish. Made for a painting done by our basset hound. (They put paint on the canvas then put it in a plastic bag with peanut butter on the outside. She licks off the peanut butter and mushes the paint around)

I'm a sucker for QS white oak. That's a beautiful frame.

Question. Where do you all get hardware for projects? I've gotten by with box store options and Amazon finds thus far, but I'm having a hard time finding bronze hardware for a large chest I'm making. I need heavy duty handles cause the piece is huge. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations perhaps for companies that specialize in the hardware/accessory type stuff?

Or do you just get the available hardware and paint it the color you want? (though I'm not always impressed with the hardware options)

Woodworkers supply or Woodcraft would probably have something.

I pretty much get all my hardware from either Amazon or the big orange or blue store. I'll hit up a mom and pop hardware store on occasion cuz they may have some different stuff. Wish I had had better recommendations, I know how hard it is to find hardware sometimes.
I always keep my eyes open at garage sales or flea markets for cool and different hardware, but that's few and far between.

I'm checking there now. My concern is the hardware won't be heavy duty enough, though the selection does look better.

Two people can probably fit inside. It's maple and its heavy. Not impossibly so, but there's nothing in it yet. I need handles that will be able to take the weight.

Lee Valley. A little more expensive than the box stores, but a much greater selection, and always high quality. https://www.leevalley.com/en-ca

Good hardware can get very spendy. Worth it, but damn.

Van Dykes Restorers, or for small high-end stuff I like Brusso, made in USA and the quality can't be beat.

    True…
I went down the Festool rabbit hole a couple years ago. Now that I think of it, quality hardware is cheap by comparison!
