Yes, there is a little flex in the connection between the Cyclone and the blower. As of right now, that connection is made with tape, but I'm planning to swap the tape for a rubber union with some hose clamps.

 

I made an adapter with some wood rings and sheet metal. Rubber would be easier I'm sure, but it's what I had on hand. I also used tape, but over time it separated and just made my life more difficult.

 

Yea, the tape was just a quick and dirty way to get it up and running. I was thinking of looking for some sort of rubber adapter but haven't had the time to devote to it yet.

 

I did the same thing with the tape, just wanted get to work building things. I looked at A/C transition, chimney pipe, dryer vent duct, etc. couldn't find anything that matched the diameter of the dust deputy. I eventually gave up and came up with the thing in the photo.

 

Has anyone on here made a build-in bookcase? I'm looking for some ideas, and I've looked at plans online, but just wanted to know what people here have done that might be able to answer questions as I move into it. I have a wall in between two doors, and would love to build a bookcase for it.

its "rustic" but seriously $500!?! I maybe would have paid $40 thats just me though.

 

I wouldn't pay that much unless it's a good or service I don't have the ability to make. The quality in that photo is very poor and doesn't show a great deal of craftsmanship.

 

I was saying $40...but that was just for the wood...prob has about $40 in wood. Definitely not workmanship

 

Girlfriend wanted a "rustic" farmhouse table which go for $1,000+, so I built her one for under $300

This looks like craftsmanship... that other "farmhouse" or "rustic" stuff gives carpentry a bad name in my opinion.

 

"rustic" furniture sold at artwork prices is a fucking scam.

 

rustic just means crappy...even in the food world...
