Almost all.of it is Chinese made. For example, the parts for the Harbor Freight lathe are the EXACT same as the Jet lathe at over TWICE the price. But hey, you do you.

The oak trim in pic is getting replaced, so ignore it. I planned to install the actual floor transition after base trim is finished.

the transition at the corner seems trickiest.

Just wrap the corner and butt the 2 together. Imo. Why make it more difficult than it has to be.

looks like you'd just notch out 3/8" with a jig saw or an oscillating tool would probably be better. hold the trim against the wall and mark it at the edge of the tile and notch out the 3/8"

Edit: scratch that, im thinking of it backwards. unless they make 3-7/8" tall foot board :D

Why not try something along the lines of a plinth block? Yes, they are typically at the bottom of door frames but you may be able to make it work as a transitional piece between the two trims.

But seriously, if you aren't following Finish Carpentry TV or Brent Hull on YT, you're missing out.

I like rubber at that junction, or something not-natural-wood. Pup-pup will make messes eventually. But maybe I am just over-thinking it.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
A little help. I'm considering a Grizzly 6" benchtop jointer at HD. They have two models, one with the knife blades and one with the helical cutter. Is there a big difference in how they cut and durability? I know there is a significant difference in replacement parts cost, so I would hope there would be a significant difference in cut and longevity. The only other difference between the two is 1000 rpm and $50.

I'd go with the helical cutter... those heads tend to be 4 sided and you can ge a lot of cutting out of them. for $50.. it's 100% worth it.

Helical cutter heads are more cost effective. 4 sided knives, a lot less sharpening down time and expense.

Definitely helical. Besides lasting longer they are also quieter and take less power so they are more efficient. And they are way easier to change. I converted my jointer to a helical, wow what a difference. When my planer knives get dull I'll do the same thing.

I got a helical jointer too. They make carbide tipped blades. That’s been a big improvement to blade life.

Yes, my straight blade Jet jointer always left cutting marks that had to be removed, my new (to me) helical jointer leaves a butter smooth finish. It's a definite upgrade and worth every penny.
