The only time my shop is organized is when I'm not making anything.

Bone head alert! I edited my post. I debated 6” v 8” jointer. Decided to save a few dollars and go 6”. Not sure why I typed 8” other than Freudian slip

You GOT me!! It didn't happen!! Too funny, 6" not 8".

I went back and forth and just figured a 6" would be fine for the work I do.

In your price range you can't beat the grizzlys.
My old school delta 14" has served me well, and it's only 3/4 hp. I resaw with it regularly. My next saw will be a harvey 15" but it's around 3k.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
After a couple of busy post retirement weeks, a trip to Tennessee to get our house build approved, (it was!), back to the desk. Everything on the frame and shelf sanded to 180 grit. The two frames that will hold the computer shelf are squared, glued, and setting in clamps till tomorrow. (Only took a pic of one, so you'll have to use your imagination till tomorrow.)

Tomorrow I start the post for the other side of the desk. 4x4 walnut will sit on two whiskey barrel staves. That was partially prepped today. I will cut to the final height tomorrow and cut a space for the mounting plate to attach. And hopefully get the shelf sections together.

For you guys that use computers in your shop, do you have trouble getting a strong signal? I can’t pick up a signal, I was told I need to get a “gaming router”. I tried using my laser in the shop but can’t due to no signal. I even have trouble with my cell phone service there. The shop is only 15’ from my house. No windows and one door.

You might look into a range extender or wifi mesh setup. I purchased a cheap TPlink mesh system several years ago that solved all my issues. I would think if your router is relatively close to the shop a range extender might do the trick.

We have a mesh system. Otherwise my laser wouldnt work in the sun porch and the wifi thermostat out in the shop wouldnt communicate to our phones and my ass isnt tromping the 20’ out through the snow to turn the heat on vs hitting a button on the app.
    But yeah, they work great.
