That's a horrible idea. What time?
This is a bit better, most of the oil has absorbed so that helps as well.

I think the receiver will be spreading the word about what you can do, either actively or just by using it.

Took it outside this morning after drying over night. Second lighter coat on this morning then probably some wood wax.

Dang, went from a Grande build to a pequeño build :annoyed:

I didn’t see the bad curl it had. I thought it was just the corner. I was going to mill the curled area straight, and then glue in a piece that was part of the cut-offs. Machine afterwards. I was planning on glueing/(possibly domino, but wasn’t sure how to mechanically do it properly. I know not to use biscuits!!!)) two pieces together for a large table.

But the curl goes all the way downtown!!!!! Fuck, from one end to the other. Never saw it. I was too amped on the density. Thats anll I was fixated on yesterday.

All good, going with a bench instead.

Went to work on the second part of the Christmas present today. Walnut, hickory and purple heart. Inteded to be dual use service tray to carry your stuff to the table or flip it over for a charcuterie board.

Assembled and sanded to 120. Need to round over the edges and hit with 180 grit tomorrow. Will get the same treatment as the cutting board (which I kind of wish I was keeping!)

Finished products. I like this pair and think they turned out well for a first attempt at either.

Found a flaw in the tray. One of the purple heart strips tapers by about 1/16" and I didn't see it until glue up on the ends of the tray. Nothing I can do about it, so it goes as is.

I didn't feel confident with the router skill trying get handles in for the serving tray side with the angles. So I took a cut off and ca glued them on. I think it worked.

The only product that would have fewer defects (manufacturing) would be crap-board from IKEA. I highly doubt the receiver will even notice. :101010:

Did some wainscoting for a customer made everything fit super tight with zero filler. Once I was done they decided they wanted to paint it. Killed me to put paint on it but it's not mine.PXL_20241022_195405556.MP.jpg PXL_20241209_182305246.MP.jpg

Thank you. I appreciate it. It's going to a friend and I don't think he'll scrap it as a result.

Building this Euc/aluminum bench for some crazy good friends. Raising the grain to sand, and then quite a bit of epoxy work so these cool ladies don’t get their clothes ruined with a snag.

The ray-flecks are crazy cool. They sparkle as you walk around it. Good stuff.
