Any woodworkers?

One of those mixed boxes of hardwood cut offs. I’ll grab a pic of the end grain later this evening.

 

You can cut a nice circle on table saw...

 

My wood supply store has a $2/lb cutoffs bin ... 4 in fact (2 at the front door, 2 out back with the machines). They sometimes have live-edge sections in there.

Yup they are real ebony! I was able to order two small pieces online when I got the rest of the hardware.
I am happy with how it is turning out so far.

Still undecided on the final door design, pull design, and type of finish I will use. A long way to go still.

 

Woodworker Supply, 645 W Elliot (Elliot and Kyrene, Tempe, about 500 ft west of Kyrene). More wood than tools relatively, long boards of 4/4 and 6/4 and more of Canary, Sapele, bamboo plywood, oaks, zebrawood, purpleheart ... just to name a few. Some live-edge as well.

I don't know anything about wood. My wildly inccorrect crazy guess is black limba. Obviously probably not, but its pretty whatever it is

 

I can see that too. Looks fairly similar to the limba in my shop right now

 

For those interested...heres the simple circle cutting jig for table saw. Basically place pin half the diameter of circle you want. Continue Cutting corners off then cut high sides... rotating slowly, then finish the last by keeping it at highest point of circle and let tablesaw do the work.

I am making a mounted cartridge holder for my turntable supply shelf. I have an odd ask. I would love a clear plastic dome over the 4 holes/ cartridges

3.5” diameter
3-4” tall

Anyone seen or know of such a thing?

 

Do you have to rebalance your tone arm when you are swapping out cartridges?
