Anyone in need of a #5 bench plane? Its in good condition and takes shavings just fine. I cant tell who makes it, but the iron saw "Buckeye Cleveland OH." on it. There is an owners mark "MGA" stamped in the side. No cracks, welds, chips. I refinished the knob and tote about a year ago. The japanning is in decent shape, a little is missing from the normal areas (heel and toe).

Beautiful collection. I'll have to get mine out. It's a mixed bag but all are usable.

I found a #607 a few years ago at a TAG sale. paid $25. i dated it back to the early 1900s, somewhere around 1907. I found ones like it on ebay going for $300+. i use it all the time. that thing is a battleship, literally.

Here it is before i cleaned it up.

Depends on the manufacturer and model. Some $20, others $200.

It very much depends on the manufacturer. Antique Stanley (Bailey / Bedrock) and Record planes are probably the best at holding their value. The Stanley Handyman series are a dime a dozen.

The cheapest Stanley I have is my #4 (pictured above). It was super rusty, I paid $15 at a local flea market. The most expensive was the #2 (also above) at $235. Most of them however were in the $30-60 range. And they all needed cleanup work.

My #7 i picked up on CL for about $60. The patent date behind the frog is 1902. Super cool. The #607 and #8 are probably about the same in weight. They are massive. It doesnt take long to work up a sweat.

a little wax on the bottom of the plane makes a HUGE difference in the amount of work you put in to it.

That pic is of a 78, its missing the fence and fence rod. Those parts are usually lost, and hard to come by.
