Great little engine! Its quick as i expected, coming from previous cars w reliable engines, good on gas...novas w I6's, 72 jeep w I6, saturn I4. The taco is as fun to drive as my old jeep, much better handling ofcourse. To me a pick up truck is not about speed, i never even considered the V6.
I must be getting old, because i enjoyed seeing the hauling pics above, as much as seeing all the great work done on the lifted trucks on this board.

My 2014 regular cab 4wd automatic is adequate. I had no trouble merging onto the freeway from an uphill ramp. I am interested to see what the gear ratios are for the 2016 6 speed automatic. Perhaps a lower 1st gear would be of benefit when loaded to capacity or towing a trailer. A taller top gear may only be useful in places like Kansas, where the roads are flat and the speed limits on the freeways are high.

With the 2.7 MT I never have issues merging onto the freeway Or hills, with my 1999 2.4 MT I would have to turn the ac off to gain power to merge or go up an incline. I'm easily pleased:)

My '09 2.7 5 speed AC taco does kind of okay turning 33's! I wouldn't trade it for a v6 any day though, the 4 banger has so much more room under the hood for activities.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
That makes me jealous and I've got one. Very nice and well done!

I've got a MGM 2010 2.7L 4x4 5sp SR5 and it has done everything I've asked of it. I've got this little app on my phone, and lifetime to date MPG = 21.5. Still cleans up nice. Everything works.

huh? If you arent impressed with the V6, you would probably jump off a bridge if you bought the four cylinder.

Its like saying I'm not a fan of big old C cup boobies and I wish I had a woman with A cups. Said by no one!

The v6 is a great engine I wish I had driven the 2.7 first for fuel economy reasons lol. I'm lucky if I get 18 average at all.

I like small boobies. Anything more than a mouthful is a waste.

I love my 2.7l DC. It's kinda gutless but it does what I need it to do. Its my work truck...my daily came from the factory with 450hp at the crank and 200mph on the speedo so when i wanna go fast I have that option.
