I like FORD i have an E250 van i beat the shit out of and it keeps going. I would have bought an f150 it just didnt fit in the garage. I like my tacoma not sure if im the only one with a trouble free vehicle, i notice tons of bitching and complaining. I think it rides nice and has more then enough room. Perfect for the weekend warrior/DIYer. I also bought base with a purchase price of 29k 4x4 dcsb v6... Not sure how much ford i could have gotten for 29k im assuming not a crew cab....

To the original post...to me size matters...parking, off road, and in the driveway. My wife already complains that my truck makes it hard for her to get around to get in the garage. (My side of the garage is for motorcycles). I also want something that is better off road. For me the access cab is small enough while still allowing me to put my bike in the back when necessary. I think that most Tacoma owners are ones who have similar priorities. F150 owners have different priorities.

Point 2 Unless you are talking about straight up purchases with no trade your "I got X off of list" is only half the story. This is another difference between fleet and retail sales... retail makes as much or more money from trades as they do from new car sales. I've listened to a sales manager talking about guys walking out the door bragging about getting a car at invoice when they knew they gave them $20K for a trade they would put $500 into and sell for $30K. If you are going to brag about your deal either let us know that there was no trade or give the trade information as well.

Ford makes a nice truck. I did a lot of thinking and test driving and forum reading before I purchased. Part of what steared me to the Tacoma was resale. I looked at a 2014 Platinum with 51k, it listed for $62 k new and I could have purchased it for $30,500. I looked at a 2016 GMC fully loaded with 7100 miles, listed for almost $55 k new, dealer was asking $41k and I could have purchased it for $39,500.

    Ummm......
F150 is a full size truck.
Go brag on a tundra/Silverado/f150 forum.
Just bought mine in July never even looked at full size. Could care less. The Tacoma is a mid size truck. I shopped the gm twins and the Tacoma. I drive/park in downtown Chicago everyday, DONT want a full size at all.

After researching Fords and learning about their resale value every time I see someone driviing an F150, I think to myself," That guy just threw away several thousand dollars".

Ford has a Better Idea - 1970's. Still waiting. LOL Dream on. Its always in the future it seems, always, never today. Yawwwwn.
If they stop making a carboard looking box with an engine in it they might have a chance.

Silverado gets my vote. They have the best styling and my last GM was perfect! Just decided wanted something a bit smaller for back road hunting. Wondering now if Tacoma was really the right choice....
